Description

Ms. Rehmat Merchant was sent on a special scholarship scheme by His Highness the Aga Khan in the early 1960’s for nursing training in London, UK. When she returned to Karachi, she got the opportunity to join the foundation team planning the Aga Khan Hospital and Medical College. She was hired by the first Director Nursing at AKU Ms. Winnifred Warkentin. Dr. Yasmin Amarsi also worked under her. She is 94 years old and now lives in Karachi Pakistan. An excerpt taken from an oral history interview taken on 14^th September 2023.
