Department of Surgery has grown many folds since its inception, both in terms of human resources as well as expertise. We have made a huge contribution in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. A wide spectrum of state of art clinical work is being done in all our sections. A large number of high impact research papers are published each year from our department. A huge effort in terms of continuing surgical education is being made towards improving surgical skills of our postgraduate trainees. Beyond Theatres, the department of surgery newsletter, is a modest effort to document, and share all the activities of this robust and ever-growing department. Now in its tenth year if publication, it started off as ‘Cutting Edge’, and over the years, has grown, much like the department it represents, both in content, and quality. Hopefully ‘Beyond Theatres’ will continue to provide a collective forum to all our faculty members, residents, alumni and former faculty members to share their news.
