Media Corporatism: Whither Journalistic Values?

Abstract

This paper argues that despite positive developments in the Kenyan media, the gains achieved have been eroded by numerous factors and actors. It posits that whilst the government is largely culpable of battering press freedom, journalists are partly to blame for promoting commercial interests at the expense of journalistic values.
