Abstract
East Africa has an estimated population of 178 million people, with a median age of 18 years. However, childhood neurodisability is poorly characterized and it is highly likely that global estimates underestimate its prevalence in the region, given the high frequency of risk factors, a fastgrowing population, and high mortality in children with severe neurodisability.
