Abstract

The mission of WFUMB is to bring sustainable ultrasound programs to the underserved areas of the world to improve global health care through collaboration, communication and education. WFUMB has developed centers of education and organizes courses and congresses. Safety issues play a central role. Before 2013, WFUMB publications concentrated on reports and safety issues. Since then, they have focused on educational publications to provide professional support to clinicians working with ultrasound and to promote best practice through the development of guidelines and technical papers. The first WFUMB guideline on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) was published in Ultraschall in der Medizin/European Journal of Ultrasound and in Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology in collaboration with the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (Claudon et al. 2013a, 2013b …
