Abstract
The five-session Fall 2025 IAMSE WAS Seminar series, “Environmental Disasters Affecting Health Professions Education: Surviving the Storm and After”, was presented weekly from September 4, 2025, to October 2, 2025. The series examined how climate emergencies have disrupted healthcare and education, reshaped disease patterns, and increased health inequities. It explored environmental change affecting healthcare professionals and educators as they assist patients, learners, healthcare systems, and local communities in learning from past disasters, preparing for future challenges, and contributing to a future that embraces improved planetary health. The presenters challenged the audience to consider where climate change and planetary health education should be integrated into medical curricula, and rhetorically answered, “everywhere.”
