Description
The Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) is one of the largest not-for-profit private health care networks in the developing world. Operating over 200 medical facilities and primary health care programmes, AKHS serves more than two million people annually in Pakistan, India, Kenya, Tanzania, and Bangladesh. Established on the foundation of preventive health initiatives led by the Aga Khan and his predecessors since the late 19th century, the network integrates community-based health programmes with advanced hospitals, focusing on disease prevention, public health promotion, and affordable curative care.
