Abstract

The circular economy marks a transformative shift from the traditional “take, make, dispose” model to a regenerative approach focused on sustainability and resource efficiency. This strategy aims to decrease waste, increase product lifespans, and establish closed-loop systems—where materials are continuously recycled, repurposed, or remanufactured—instead of throwing away materials. “Navigating Circular Horizons” examines the fundamental ideas of the circular economy and how it might be used to solve urgent global issues including environmental degradation, resource depletion, and climate change. The circular economy promotes a more robust and flexible socioeconomic structure by lowering reliance on limited resources and minimising ecological damage. This chapter explores essential strategies for integrating circular principles throughout industries, including encouraging waste reduction, creative design, and sustainable consumer behaviour. It also looks at how government legislation, corporate social responsibility, and public awareness have influenced this change. Finally, the conversation emphasises how crucial multidisciplinary cooperation and innovation are to promoting the ideas of the circular economy and creating a sustainable future.
