Introduction:

The workshop is aimed to create awareness among healthcare professionals about the mental health diseases that arise from life style disorders (Hypertension, Diabetes etc). In addition, the workshop would also provide opportunity to practically learn the steps and dynamics involved while educating the patients for a mental health consult

Objectives:

At the end of workshop the participants should be able to know:

• Identify depression and anxiety symptoms in patients suffering from life style disorders (Hypertension, Diabetes etc)
• Discuss importance of liaison with mental health services
• Rehearse steps involved in educating the patient for a mental health consult.
• Make appropriate referrals accordingly.

Role-plays, case studies and small group activities.
