Assessments in medical education in this part of the world leaves a lot to be desired
Location

Start Date

Abstract
Rules and regulations for eligibility for assessment are not adhered to. Formative assessment although carries only 10% of weightage but is misused everywhere. It never is the true reflection of the actual performance of the candidates. Beginning of private medical education in this country has added fuel to the fire. How on earth could you have 100% results with the poorest of the poor students. In any case, what is the need for assessment if everyone has to go through? What to do with the principle i.e., “Assessment drives learning” We should look at our assessment system very critically and take some remedial measures before it is too late.
