Abstract
The central figure of the learning process is undoubtedly the teacher. A good teacher defines the educational process, being it traditional or using modern methodologies and technologies like web 2.0. With the advancement of web portals, teacher portfolios, and other digital means for representing professional productivity, teachers have new strategies for demonstrating their effectiveness. This workshop is interactive discussion about the personal career management. Personal branding is about the practical arrangements by which a teacher builds his/her own brand which could be used for promotion or “sold” after that to an institution. More than ever the new technologies enable the creation, development and management of a \'teacher brand\' with real and solid competitive chances in educational market. This interactive workshop explores the construct of brand and how web presence technologies (like LinkedIn, ResearchGate, Academia, Google Scholar, slideshare and other social networks) influence how teacher quality is cultivated for mutual benefit to teachers, schools, and society.
Objectives
At the end of workshop the participants will be able to list, categorize and describe how to utilize different online tools to market themselves in the professional educational world
